Operation & Maintenance
- Do not discharge battery beyond 80% of nominal capacity
- Recharge immediately after discharge
- Use recommended traction taper chargers only
- Carry out equalizing charge every 2 weeks for heavy usage
- Keep battery top clean and dry
- Check earth leakage regularly
- Use battery grade water for topping-up
- Provide additional ventilation during charging
Typical IUI Recharge Method
- Step 1: @ 15% of rated C5 till 2.35 VPC
- Step 2: Constant Volt @ 2.35 VPC till current tapers to 7-8% of C5
- Step 3: @ 7-8% of C5 till voltage reaches 2.65 Volt per Cell
